My little monkey gave me an idea, and a freebie.

My little one started to like hanging upside down in the park, and being very partial to the monkeys of all sorts, so she has become "my little monkey", we (my dds and myself) have been recently practicing drawing monkeys, first on paper then on computer, so we all made an alpha for you to enjoy. And you can see a LO that uses the monkey alpha... Also used are: Circus Carnivale kit by TiffanyTillman, a Kit by Kat Circus kit alpha M, Kristin Aagard's clip. Anita Designs' clowns, monkey alpha is by me available on my blog. BG is my Wave bg coming as a freebie to the blog soon. :) Fonts: Kozuka Mincho Pro B for the Monkey alpha, University script and Wendy

You can download the Monkey Alpha here.

Ok, Ok, I said I shouldn't do it...

And I did it, it turns out that for once in a blue moon my dh read my blog whilst at work, so I had to see where he comes up on the nerdy score, and guess what... He is Not very very nerdy, Neither is he the King of the Nerds, no!

I am nerdier than 99% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

LOL! And I made him not cheat, so ... He has earned it fair and square...

Saw this on Claudi's blog, and had to find out. :)

I am nerdier than 71% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

I know that my dh would probably come with Biohazard warning, so shh! let's not let him find out just how nerdy he is. And I had to look up GPA to answer the question, because I am Russian, and I had to estimate that answer, as the Educational system of Russia has a different scale of marking your performance, the rest I am afraid I have done without looking it up... I thought I'd be slightly nerdy, well, whatever, nevermind. I guess being married to a computer geek rubs off on you, too. :) Have a nice day, let me know if you take a test.

What do you know about Cornish pasties? plus a tasty freebie for you.

When we lived in UK we went to Cornwall a couple of times, and there I was overwhelmed with the scenery, old mines and the Cornish pasties, not only are they tasty, but have a long history, for instance do you know why they have such a big crust on one side. They were a part of the staple diet of the miners, and farmers of the old days, and when they ate their lunch they didn't want to touch the food with their hands, not only for the fear of the dirt, but also because they didn't like being poisoned by tin or copper (the miners especially). I have made something for you as a special Cornish treat. But first my page that is devoted to our first family Holiday, the one we had in 2001.

And now for that special treat that I told you about. I have made three papers from those old photos, an overlay and a pastry for all of you to enjoy!!! I hope you like it, if so, click on the image of the preview to download and comment so that I knew if you liked it, too.

Stay little, don't grow up! Not yet! I am not ready!

I am not ready to admit that my girl is growing up. It pains me to see the glimpse of what she is to become, just be a baby, my baby just a second more. I was scrapping her photos today and crying, I have not noticed when it's happened that she turned into this beautiful young creature. I knew she didn't fit into the crook of my arm for a while now, and I do enjoy her curiosity and seriousness, I love her grown up qualities, but I miss my baby! I want my baby back! Can't type any more, too wet...

How about that!

my first Dutch trip

The short story of the Dutch trip goes as follows: I have stayed for over a month in the psychiatric hospital in the province of Drenthe either in 96 or 97 with a group of doctors I was accompanying, the visit started with our being on local radio and television, and one of the Russian psychiatrists starting the formal speech with a joke that I translated for him: In the psychiatrist's studio there is always one schisophrenic: and it is very difficult to say whether it is the patient or the doctor himself... To cut the story short that doctor after a couple of weeks being abroad had started following me with a metal rouble trying to "remind" me of the task that KGB "had given us" (!!!) How freaky is that?! He was safely (with certain difficulty as he had hidden his passport) been returned home and hospitalized at alater date... But just fancy that!?!!! I am still using Shelleyrae's papers, see previous posts if you are interested. They are just perfect for someone like me. Font: Journal.

I used Lazy kitty kit Splash, and the butterfly is from her freebie Think Spring, Ake Pangestuti's frame. Tekton Pro font. TFL. The flying from 10 m is performed by my dh. Why?! Search me. Must be a man's thing!I can't understand what's the neccessity to jump off the highest thing, especially when your knees have been operated on a couple short of a dozen times... when jumping off the boards a few years back you were growing a hunchback... fails me. A child of seven watching these guys jumping off talked of the lemmings, so true!

Moscow birthday

Watch this space for more, finally some inspiration that stirred so many memories of the past, made me scrap some of the old photos really small and of bad quality, but not to be lost nevertheless, as they are quite important for me. And the secret is: The inspiration came from a paperpack by Shelleyrae, her Travel Sketchbook filled to the brim with fantastic places... Available at SBB.
I also used Shelleyrae's the Reason tag album, Paper sentiments and the font: Susie's hand

Do you like this freebie today?! I hope you do, I have made these papers with the photos I took a couple of weeks back in the Red Square. Funny, how many memories I have connected with the place. Romantic walks with my husband, coming to see the peace parade with my cousin when I was very very young. Visiting Mausoleum on the day I became a young pioneer, and listening to the gossip on how Lenin's nails and hair still continue growing, and feeling remarkably unwilling to go and see a dead man, despite the honour... Losing my dear little bro after the christmas performance... Taking my daughter there for a walk for the very first time. Now visiting it almost like a tourist... I hope you enjoy the papers. The cathedral with the colourful domes is St. Basil's Cathedral. The Soviet looking tower is the main clock that tells us all Moscow Time. It's got a name, Curanti. If you have never been to Moscow, this is the first place you will want to visit, Red Square. It is right there you will find the zero kilometre from which the distances in Russia are calculated. I guess some part of my heart is lost there for ever, and has attached itself to the very stones of the "mostovaya" the pavement of the square.

Almost two weeks ago I have started an unexpected "holiday" (this must be the longest stretch as I visited my Dad who had a heart attack) to my homeland, Russia. I had two flights with a three hour wait, and saw two amazing sights, a midnight sunset, and a three o'clock in the morning sunrize. Spectacular.
Kaliningrad airport where I had to wait was not quite finished.

There were ten airplanes worth of people waiting for their flights and to keep them entertained and remind them of the Soviet times and the queues to Lenin's Mausoleum there was just one toilet. Three hours is a long time to sit with your legs crossed... There I witnessed a wonderfully weird scene which involved a young man with rosy cheeks and cheerful disposition, at least before the following conversation which took place in the abovesaid airport with a strange looking young lady wearing a white summer hat, woolen socks and flipflops (not the only items of her clothing, but most memorable).
The dialogue will have a she and a he part, so try and bear with me. He is sitting in the waiting area tucking in his red caviar sandwich.
She is approaching him with a bizzare greeting: You know? Hello.
He: I know (visibly saddening, waiting for her to leave)
She: I washed my hands
He: (uncomitting) hmmm...
She: I did a pee-pee and then I washed my hands (in a proud ringing voice)
He: Well done
She: So can I?
He: Can I what?
She: You know they don't give us caviar.
He: Where?
She: In the "crazy house" in Paris (I only can guess Mental assylum) they didn't give us caviar for two years...
He: Completely losing interest in his sandwich which remains half eaten in his hand... Is that why you ran away, then?
She: I didn't run, they let me go, I am much-much better!!!
He: (doubtfully) I see...
She: So can I take some of the caviar with my hand, since I have washed it?!!
He: Passing the sandwich, Here you are have it...
She: pointing at his bottle of ice tea: Is it peach flavoured?
He: opening the bottle and passing it to her: Yes, have it (quite pale by now and speaking with a voice of the condemned)...

Red is the colour

I think red must be one of the most powerful colours, so you only need a little in your page, when scrapping. So, I decided to put all the things red I have made recently and long ago to this one zip and I want to share it with you.download your freebie here

And this is a LO I have made with my freebie, recording a memory of my most recent visit to my home"town" or city if you please just a week back. My Moscow

I have used the following: Paper from Almost Solids by Angelica E, Sheryl's Colors overlay, and my Red elements, A.Victoria alpha doodle distressed, font: Artistamp Medium

Is it July already?! Here is something to add to your no doubt by now immense collection for the 4th of July. I am not in any way American, the only connection is I have been there a few times and there are Americans that I like and love. There is a whole bunch in Acton, since I have once visited Acton-Boxborough Regional High school. I wish all the best to all the American people I know personally and virtually! Here are the papers I have once made, I hope you like them.
I hope the image is clickable, try clicking around the general area :) Have fun!
